The Neighborhood
Walkability, Cafes, Grocery stores, and Public Transit.
This apartment is in a prime location. You literally walk out the door, and you’re in the middle of the city. As you can see by the map, you’re close to several attractions, including the Rijksmuseum, the Flower Market and Rembrandt Square.
There are cafes everywhere, too many to name. Of course, there’s the traditional Starbucks, but I recommend trying a local cafe to get the Amsterdam experience.
I highly recommend the subway for getting around. You’re only a four-minute walk from the Vijzelgracht Station, and you can really save time and money by utilizing this system.
Would You Stay Here Again?
Unfortunately, no. It was a very cool apartment, but the setup wasn’t what we had hoped for. Both bedrooms are in the basement, along with the bathroom in between. However, there are no doors on any of them. Only curtains with rods. For us, that just wasn’t enough privacy to be comfortable.
It is likely the perfect apartment for many people. It was a very interesting layout and was nicely furnished. It was close to a lot of things, including a laundromat. The owner was extremely helpful and kind, and anyone not caring about the lack of doors thing, would love it.
